The 2026 summer swim season is just around the corner and we are excited to welcome all of our returning and new swimmers! Here is some important information on fees, dates, and how we run our team. The Chadds Walk Tidal Waves Swim Team is a Cobb County Summer Swim League (CCSSL) team open to children ages 4-18 (as of 5/31/26). Registration fees are per child and include ribbons, a team medal, a swim cap, coaching, and participation in five league meets (except for four-year-olds, please see below). The team is self-sufficient and relies primarily on parent participation. All programs are funded from registration fees and concession profits.

New this year, we will offer a hybrid practice schedule, including both morning and night practice times. You will register your child(ren) and may attend as many practices as your schedule allows. We are excited to once again offer a “Rookies” program for our four-year-old swimmers, who won’t participate in Cobb County meets, but will practice with the team, participate in an exhibition race at the end of the season, and receive a medal.

Participating in swim team gives your child an excellent opportunity to build endurance, get more comfortable in the water, and be part of a fun, supportive team! It is also a great value for an activity that is daily for 7 weeks. Please remember that swim team is different from private swim lessons. The ratio of swimmers to instructor is much higher and it is not possible to offer as much individual instruction on swim team. Swimmers MUST be able to swim independently, without the use of a flotation device, in the deep end prior to attending the first practice.

All children 6 and under must have a parent, or other supervising adult, present at the pool for all practices. If you elect to drop off an older child for practice, please be aware that there will not be coaches, lifeguards, or other adults there to supervise them, except during their designated practice time. Unsupervised children may not be on the pool deck at all, except during their scheduled practice time.

We are once again using the Swimtopia website, that will allow you to register and pay online, access practice and meet schedules, sign up for volunteer shifts once posted, monitor results, etc.

You MUST download the Swimtopia mobile app and should enable notifications, which will allow you to easily access alerts and information for meets, and swimmer results when the time comes. We will again be using the app this year to push out any urgent team messages (weather changes, etc.).

2026 Tidal Wave Registration Fees

Please note that we do not ask for concessions donations. We also include those costs in your registration.

$175 – First Swimmer – ages 5-13

$130 - Each additional swimmer in family - ages 5-13

MEETS ONLY

$45 – Per Swimmer – ages 14-18

ROOKIES

$120 - age 4 as of 5/31/2026; no swim meets; exhibition at last home meet; Cobb County Swim League and concession fees not included

*If a swimmer is not a member of the Chadds Walk HOA, then there is a non-member fee of $25 per family.

Team Suits and Gear

Our Tidal Wave team suit for the 2026 season will be the Speedo St Vortex Maze Flyback (Blue), which is the same suit from the past 3 years and can be ordered through the registration link. We will be hosting a team try-on at the Edgemere Clubhouse (4327 Edgemere Drive) from 2:00-4:00 on Saturday, April 18, but the suits are available to be tried on Mountain View Aquatic Center at the Reddiset pro-shop (2650 Gordy Parkway, 30066). We highly recommend trying the suit on at the pro-shop if you are unable to attend the try-on. Any size changes from those selected at registration must be emailed to us ([email protected]) by April 30th. After April 30th, you can still go to the proshop and purchase the suit from them directly, by letting them know you are with Chadds Walk swim. Tidal Wave suits are strongly suggested, but not required.

The cost for female suits is $48.00 and male suits is $40.00.

Swimmers will also need goggles and swim caps. We will include swim caps with the Chadds Walk Tidal Waves logo for our team as a part of the registration fees. If your swimmer would like a Tidal Waves t-shirt to wear at meets, you can order one when registering. We will also have adult shirts available!

Parent Participation

Our swim team relies entirely on parent participation in order to have successful swim meets. Each family needs a representative to volunteer for one shift for each swim meet in which your child is participating. Sign-ups for volunteer jobs are available on the website now. We encourage you to select a volunteer job that best suits your schedule and preferences, otherwise we will sort you into the open slots.

Practice Schedule

Practices will be held every day as scheduled, rain or shine – we ONLY cancel if there is thunder. If practice is canceled, we will send an email, and notify via the Swimtopia app. Otherwise, assume practice and meets are happening.

*INCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN FOR MEETS! 

In the event of inclement weather, the referees and team coordinators will discuss whether the meet is able to be rescheduled. If we finish at least the half of our meet (through Event 46), we won’t reschedule.If it is only raining, the meet will be held. If it thunders, the meet will be postponed for 30 minutes and the pool deck must be cleared. Everyone should wait in their cars until further direction is given by the coordinators via email and the SwimTopia app.
